Built-In Quality

We begin with the finest materials from our suppliers, building the frame to your unit, checking and re-checking for 'square'. Our trailers are build with a 1/16" tolerance, insuring your new unit will be a dream for your drivers to pull down the road, and extending the life of your trailer and equipment.

Once the main frame is built, the front & back walls are built and installed, once again with the same attention to keeping the whole unit 'in square'. Uprights are installed and welded in, giving constant support and strength throughout the whole trailer. Some manufacturers skip the step of welding the uprights, relying on the frame and rivets alone to hold the trailer together. We have found the extra time and effort spent on this step helps keep our units stronger, with more hours on the road and less in the shop for repairs.

The axles are added, and extra support welded into the frame, once again insuring your unit will be rolling down the road for years to come. All bare metal supports are etch-primed around weld & contact points, to protect the material and extend the life of the unit.

After the entire frame assembly is completed, the unit is sent to our paint booth for priming and painting. This important step, also skipped by many manufacturers, keeps your steel frame sealed from the elements, extending it's life, and more importantly, provides a barrier between the steel of the frame and the aluminum skin. This prevents 'electrolysis', a chemical reaction that occurs when dissimilar metals are in contact with each other, that corrodes and weakens both metals, causing costly repairs and shortening the life span of the unit.

After the unit is primed, it is brought back to the shop floor, where the aluminum 'skins' are installed. Phoenix Trailer & Body has become proficient at the 'rivetless' look, a process involving counter-sinking all of the rivets, which gives the same strength as traditional rivets, with no visible rivets or rivet lines. An excellent look if your trailer is 'wrapped' in a vinyl graphic, or just painted. We can also install the skins using traditional rivets.
